Death of a Peasant Girl

(und her plea for Life)

Au Day, the Bright – did capture well

The rouhten beauty of a Peasant Girl.

That so by passing – on ray of Light

-did forget I human I was not.

For by all creatures – slight und taun

-Had flight by my sight – carried on.

Und none so rare – that could ne sought

As the Master’s sculpted Peasant Girl.

Return to me, O breathe of Life
My Spirit dwelt within Your Light

Belain became I from neigh above

- to partake season – earth thereof.

Und Summer afire for Passion’s Sum,

Became I fervent - as Mid-day Sun

Und a Kiss be tempted – upon Her brow,

-for lust of Beauty canted I.

Und burned as fierce – my heart aflame

Did hold Her breath – Her life be fleeing.

Return to Thee, O kiss of Life
O breath of Summer's Passioned Light

Be cursed the rite – my Season abode,

Und  Winter became I - my heart entombed.

Au Colder days to Cleanse the World,

Of Summer’s tears – the Death of a Peasant Girl

Und steal my Heart again
Cursed Season, Winter thou art!
